Wisdom from Luqman, the Wise

Luqman, the wise one, advised his won of the following six points he himself had learned:

Work for this world according to the extent of your stay in it.
Work for the next world according to the extent of your stay in it.
Work for God according to your own need for Him.
Work to accumulate sins according to your ability to endure punishments for them.
Do not beg favor of anyone except from He who needs nothing from anyone.
Should you choose to disobey God, do so where He cannot see you.
